Exhibition09: “Råbjerg Mile” – photos by Martin Petersen
Mikael R Andreasen on Exhibition09:
“Martin Petersen has been contributing to our gallery before (see Exhibition03), but when he showed me his photos from Råbjerg Mile, I instantly knew that I would like them to be presented at The Gallery as well. The sand dune Råbjerg mile doesn’t look like anything else in Denmark. I have visited it 3 or 4 times myself and I enjoy it every time. Check out these photos and keep Råbjerg Mile in mind the next time you plan your summer vacation.”
Martin Petersen on Exhibition09:
“Råbjerg Mile appears as a minimalistic desert or a beach without water. An ever moving sand dune covering approximately one square kilometer that moves up to 30 meters per year. Exploring Råbjerg Mile will let you see nothing but sand and perhaps a few other tourists. The sand, however, is a changing object that will renew it’s character with every step you take. These photos are an attempt to document the homogenic, yet varying appearance that characterizes Råbjerg Mile.”
